Random Stuff

I love doing random, spontaneous things. I think it's a lot of fun, and it can lead to meeting new friends!
Randomly deciding to watch a movie, or go shopping, or go hot tubbing is a lot of fun!

Yesterday, Kayla and I were walking around, and we saw the Campus Floral store. We decided to go check it out because we hadn't been there before. It ended up being a super cute boutique type place with a lot of cute scarves and jewelry and hats and shirts. I found a hat that I thought was super cute, so I bought it. I don't even wear hats that much, but sometimes those random impulse purchases can be great.
Here's a picture of the hat!

Today the random thing that I did was go hot tubbing super late at night. I was playing card games with some people in the lobby, when some of our friends walked in wearing bathing suits and carrying towels. They said they were going hot tubbing, and asked if I wanted to come, so I said yes and changed into my swimsuit. It turns out that none of them knew anyone in the apartment complex we were going to, but they just knew that there was a hot tub there. We walked around until we found the hot tub, but, of course, there was a lock on the gate to get into the pool. It was also about 11:30 at night and the sign said that the pool closed at 11:00. We were trying to figure out what else to do, but then the apartment manager walked by and said he could open the pool up for us! So we got to go hot tubbing super late at night. The hot tub was really, really hot though, so we spent a lot of time in the swimming pool because it wasn't too cold in the pool. It may have just felt relatively warm compared to outside though, because it was about 40 degrees outside. It was a lot of fun though!

After we were done swimming, we left and decided to go to Wendy's and get food. The drive through there was open until 2:00 a.m. but inside was only open until midnight, and we didn't have a car. Thankfully, a car pulled up and said that we could order food with them! The person driving the car looked familiar, and I found out that he was also from Oakton Stake. Then as we were eating our food outside, it was getting really cold, and we were all damp from the pool, so we all went home.

Today was pretty fun!

*Adding a new story to random stuff now, a day later

Last night I got a text from my friend Anna, from high school. She was in town in Provo, so today we spent the day together and went out to lunch and saw some other people from back home. Then she had other plans for the evening, so I went back to my room, and then to dinner with some girls from my hall. While we were at dinner we saw a bunch of guys from our ward and they were planning to go to the dollar theater to see Batman: The Dark Knight Rises right after dinner and asked if we wanted to come. We said that of course we would love to go! Well, it turns out the movie theater was a bit farther of a walk than we expected, but we got there on time to see the movie! We ended up with a group of about 20 people who went to see the movie. That was pretty fun too!

Homecoming Dance....Sort Of...

So tonight was the night of BYU's homecoming dances. There was a 20s themed formal, a 50s themed semiformal, and an 80s themed casual. Ryan asked me to the 50s themed semiformal. Kayla was also going with Mitchell, and Braiden was going with Emily. We all went to a diner beforehand and then over to Center Street for the dance. However, tickets were all sold out when we got there. Everyone else except for me and Ryan had tickets, so they went and danced while Ryan and I went to find something else to do. We ended up finding a comedy show by this group called ComedySportz where they have 2 groups that do improv comedy stuff. It's kind of similar to Whose Line is it Anyway? and it was pretty fun! Then after that was over we went outside to discover that it was raining....again. It's been raining all day. So we walked back to BYU campus and went to the Creamery to get some ice cream. Afterwards, the rest of the group got back to campus and we played Quelf, which is one of the weirdest board games I have ever played.

Well, anyways...here are some pictures from when we were at the diner!

Here are Braiden and Emily

And Kayla and Mitchell

And me and Ryan.

It actually took so many attempts to get a good picture of me and Ryan where one of us didn't look stupid. We ended up taking 8 different pictures. 3 of the pictures had closed eyes, in 2 of them there were really weird faces being made somehow, and 2 where there was a super bright glare off of the metal thing behind us. Thankfully, we got at least one good picture.

It ended up being a really fun night, even though homecoming was all sold out! Provo is a fun place to explore and find cool things like the comedy show!
